Sinopsis

The Escuela Superior de Guerra “General Rafael Reyes Prieto” presents this book, the result of a research process, to offer readers a reflection on the contributions of pacifism to the interpretation of the contemporary notion of security. Additionally, it examines elements of the positive transformation of the Colombian conflict. It seeks to examine more closely the relationship between a culture of peace and security, recognizing its complex and multidimensional nature.

To complement these theoretical and conceptual reflections, a methodological approach was developed through the analysis of specific cases in Latin America. These contexts subsequently gave rise to social formations oriented toward resolving conflicts through a culture of peace. These cases illustrate some of the most relevant characteristics of peacebuilding in the Western Hemisphere. Finally, narratives were compiled, and recognition exercises were conducted regarding some of the most pressing conflicts facing 21st-century societies.
